Create your first design

From the home page, under Create new, you have two options:

  • Design — starts a blank design and drops you straight into the schematic editor. New designs are named automatically (e.g. "Untitled Design 1"); rename them later from the home page.
  • Import — upload an existing CSV, XLSX, or JSON file. You'll see a summary to confirm before the design is created.

Your home page also has a DEMO-badged design ready to explore — its changes reset each time you open it, so it's a safe place to click around before starting your own design.

The basic workflow

A design starts as a schematic — the logical circuit: place connectors, route wires between their pins, and assign each wire a real part number. From there you switch to Harness mode to lay out the physical bundle — place the same connectors, bundle them together, and add cavity and manufacturing tables (wire table, BOM). Add a drawing frame sized to fit everything, then export the whole design as a single PDF.

For a short, hands-on walkthrough of exactly these steps, open the Get Started panel inside the editor itself — this guide is the longer-form reference that complements it (concepts, full feature coverage, troubleshooting) rather than replacing it.

Next steps

  • Schematic — components, wires, signals, routes, and signal/wire tables in depth.
  • Harness — bundles, nodes, links, and manufacturing tables.
  • Component Library — searching and managing connectors, wires, and terminals.
  • Design Rule Checks — validating a design before you export it.
